My fianc� is a K9 dog handler and we just found out he has 35.5 days of leave?

Can anybody tell me if he can take leave both for Thanksgiving and Christmas???He says he can't take 30 days otherwise his dog will be decertified...Will he be able to take 15 days for Thanksgiving and 15 days for Christmas? I am not familiar with the K9/military rules,so can anyone tell me?Thanks!!
